Why Aeon disappeared – and how it came back
A little context helps explain this comeback. In April 2025, the original Aeon manufacturer had to file for insolvency. The Aeon and Vyro brands were then taken over by Schmidt Innovations GmbH, the Lohr-am-Main company behind Steamulation shishas.
One point is worth being clear about: the former company was not bought out as such. It's the brands, the website and the social media accounts that carry on under a new structure. In practical terms, if you own an Aeon Edition 4 or 5, these older models are not covered by the new operator's warranty. For any after-sales question, your point of contact remains the retailer you bought the shisha from.
Aeon Edition 6: Aeon style, Steamulation know-how
So is it just a Steamulation with a different logo? Not at all. The silhouette is unmistakably Aeon, but the engineering has been substantially reworked, drawing on the experience of the Lohr-am-Main team, renowned for precision machining and an exceptionally smooth draw.
Edition 6 is designed in Germany, where its V2A stainless steel parts are also manufactured. The base, meanwhile, is mouth-blown glass made in Poland. That combination firmly places this hookah in the premium shisha category, built to last.

What's new under the hood
Edition 6 is far more than a cosmetic refresh. Several upgrades genuinely change the session experience:
- a cooling button to bring the heat down when the bowl gets too hot;
- an adjustable purge valve that can point upwards or to the side, depending on how you use it;
- a two-piece downstem offering three possible configurations;
- a removable diffuser and reduction discs to fine-tune the draw;
- a triple-start thread for quicker assembly and disassembly.
The diffuser also features a ball system that stabilises the water column. The result: steadier airflow, more even bubbling and a softer pull, even during long sessions.

Handy compatibility with older Aeons
Good news if you already own an Aeon: Edition 6 threads and bases are compatible with generations 4 and 5. You can upgrade your setup without replacing everything, or pair a new base with an older stem.
Lounge Plus or Premium Plus: which Aeon shisha should you choose?
Edition 6 comes in two models. The main difference lies in the number of hose ports, and therefore in how you share your sessions.
Lounge Plus, for solo sessions or for two
This model has a single hose port. Its draw resistance is rated at 135 Pa, diffuser included: the lightest draw the brand has ever offered on a single-hose shisha. If you love an airy, fluid pull, that's a major selling point.
Premium Plus, for group sessions
The Premium Plus comes with four hose adapters and the APS+ purge system. It stands 53 cm tall, weighs 4.56 kg and its base measures 22 cm in diameter. A stable build designed to take pride of place in the middle of the table, at home or in a lounge. A nice touch: it's priced €20 lower than the Edition 5 Premium Plus.

Aeon Edition 6 shisha colours and lines
Both models are available in three lines, with around a dozen colours at launch:
- Main Line: Black Velvet, Clear, Graphite Pearl, Jade Pearl, Ruby Pearl, White Frozen and Dune Velvet;
- Pastel Line: Peach Velvet, Mint Velvet and Blue Velvet;
- Signature Line: Amethyst and Blizzard, more exclusive finishes at a slightly higher price.

Aeon's comeback: frequently asked questions
Is my Aeon Edition 4 or 5 still under warranty?
Only through the retailer you bought it from, as the brand's new operator does not cover older models.
Can I use an Edition 6 base on an older Aeon?
Yes, Edition 6 bases and threads are compatible with Editions 4 and 5.
Lounge Plus or Premium Plus?
If your sessions are mostly solo or for two, the Lounge Plus is more than enough and offers a very light draw. If your living room regularly turns into a lounge, the Premium Plus and its four adapters are the better fit.
