Maklaud Stone Horr Shisha: a sculpted dragon in a run of 10 pieces

Ten pieces. Not one more. The Maklaud Stone Horr shisha is among the shortest runs the house has ever made, and its subject leaves no doubt about the intention: a chiselled dragon head sits in the middle of the stem, jaws open, horns rising on either side of the axis. The rest of the hookah stays utterly restrained — tapered stem, flat tray, cut base — to leave the whole stage to the creature. At 61 cm tall, this piece commands a table like a sculpture you actually smoke from.

Bronze and natural stone: material serving the design

The artistic element brings together two materials that do not catch the light in the same way. Bronze gives the dragon's face its deep relief, its scales and that warm tone contrasting with the satin finish of the steel. The horns are cut from natural stone: veined, translucent in places, inevitably unique from one piece to the next. It is this dialogue between worked metal and raw mineral that defines the model — and explains why no Stone Horr looks exactly like another.

A purge hidden inside the sculpture

This is the technical signature of the series: purging happens through the artistic element. No add-on valve on the stem, no detail breaking the line. The air pushed out of the base escapes through the sculpture itself, and the gesture stays the one every regular knows — a short blow into the mouthpiece to refresh the air between sequences and go back to clean flavours. An invisible purge, but very much there.

Stainless steel stem, engraved tray, crystal base

Everything that touches the airflow is stainless steel: the stem as well as the mouthpiece. This material does not rust, adds no metallic taste to the vapour and cleans with warm water without harsh products — the right choice for a shisha meant to last for years. The charcoal tray is also stainless steel, lifted by an engraving that echoes the spirit of the piece: a wide surface, easy to wipe down, where tongs and charcoal can sit without worry. The crystal base, facet-cut, closes the composition. Denser and brighter than ordinary glass, it brings real stability to the whole and catches the light on every draw.

A piece made and assembled by hand

At Maklaud, every unit passes through the hands of several craftsmen, from the sketch and the prototype right through to polishing and packing. One consequence is worth knowing before you buy: the finish, the veining of the stone and the tone of the bronze may differ slightly from the photos. That comes with a run of ten pieces, and it is precisely what collectors are after. The hookah travels in its original pine case, suited both to transport and to storage.

What you receive

The Stone Horr is delivered with its Soft Touch silicone hose and handle, a soft grip that holds no flavours from one session to the next and rinses out in seconds. To that add the stainless steel mouthpiece and the charcoal tongs. The bowl is not included: it is up to you to choose the one that matches your way of packing. A clay phunnel will keep the juices in and extend flavour life on very syrupy molasses; a killer bowl or a multi-chimney bowl will suit you better if you like short, intense sessions. Natural charcoal and molasses are likewise yours to pick to taste.

Who this shisha is for

A run of ten pieces speaks first to collectors and seasoned enthusiasts — the ones who already own what they need to pack a good session and are looking for the rare object, the one you never come across twice. It also has its place in a high-end lounge or shisha bar as a centrepiece in the window or on a VIP table, with the advantage of a stainless steel that stands up to real use. For an enthusiast, this is the kind of acquisition you pass on rather than resell.

Why buy it on el-badia.com

El-Badia has been supporting private customers and professionals since 1991, with more than thirty years of experience in shisha. On the site you will find everything needed to complete this piece: phunnel or killer bowls, heat management systems, natural charcoal, molasses and maintenance accessories. Our team helps you pick the right bowl and build a set-up worthy of a hookah at this level.

Expert tip for preserving bronze and stone

Bronze and natural stone are not treated like stainless steel. Keep abrasive products, acidic detergents and long soaks away from the sculpted element: a soft, slightly damp cloth followed by immediate drying is enough after each session. Save the deeper cleaning for the stem, rinsed with warm water and a soft brush. Submerge the downstem 2 to 3 cm in the water of the base for a smooth, effortless draw, purge regularly to keep the flavours clean, and always set the charcoal towards the edge of the tray rather than in direct contact with the engraving.

What's the difference between a classic shisha and a premium hookah?
A classic shisha at El-Badia is made for easy everyday use and broad accessibility: affordable, simple setup, durable standard materials (steel, aluminum, acrylic), and a versatile, no-fuss design. These shishas offer smooth sessions and low-maintenance reliability—perfect for beginners and casual lounges alike. Popular models include the Celeste, C5 V2, C7 V2, or XS shisha.
Premium hookahs—also often called high-end shishas—go a step further. They feature sophisticated construction with top-grade materials (stainless steel, noble woods, hand-blown glass), designer aesthetics, and innovative details: diffusers, magnet connections, advanced columns, and total compatibility with next-generation heat management like Kaloud or Quasar. For connoisseurs, these hookahs provide purer taste, longevity, refined styles, and advanced features. The premium segment showcases exclusive collaborations: Wookah hookahs, Steamulation, Moze, and special editions like luxury shishas.
In short, classic shishas are universal and practical, while premium hookahs are all about innovation, craftsmanship and a truly customized experience for the most demanding enthusiasts.

How do I clean and maintain a shisha bought from El-Badia?

Regular maintenance is essential to ensure that your shisha lasts as long as possible and always provides a pleasant experience. Here are a few tips to keep your shisha in top condition:

    - Cleaning after each use

Rinse the vase in hot water immediately after use. Use a special shisha brush to remove any residue. Also clean the body of the shisha with a special brush designed specifically to reach hard-to-reach areas. Find our different shisha cleaning products and shisha brushes here.

    - Deep cleaning

For a more thorough clean, we recommend using EL-BADIA SHISHA CLEANER Powder. This powerful solution offers several benefits: it effectively removes stubborn stains, unwanted odors and lime deposits. It disinfects your hookah for a more hygienic experience and makes your hookah shine, restoring its original shine.

To use Shisha Cleaner, dilute two teaspoons of powder in 1 litre of hot water. Immerse your shisha parts in this solution for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. This method ensures thorough cleaning and optimum disinfection of your shisha.

    - Maintenance of the various parts

Firebox: Empty it after each use and clean it with a sponge and liquid soap.

Pipe: Make sure it is washable, then rinse it with water and shake it to remove any residue.

Seals: Simply rinse with water, or soak briefly in soapy water if necessary.

By following these regular maintenance tips, you'll considerably extend the life of your shisha while guaranteeing quality sessions every time you use it.
