ALPACA is an American brand, specialising in the manufacture of very high quality bowls. ALPACA bowls are impressive both in terms of their weight and their glaze.
The clay used by the American brand is specially selected by ALPACA for an optimal result.
The special thing about ALPACA bowls is that they perfectly retain the heat emitted by your natural coals and redistribute it evenly so your molasses get consumed optimally.
ALPACA bowls are entirely handcrafted in the United States, so there may be slight differences between the colours and dimensions of each bowl.
The ALPACA MINI ROOK is a small bowl specially designed for the PROVOST APPLE ON TOP heating system. In fact, this small versatile bowl can be used with "blonde" tobacco such as ADALYA, CHAOS or AL FAKHER, but also with more powerful "dark" tobacco that is usually for more experienced consumers.
The MINI ROOK is also the ideal bowl for using aluminium foil and natural coals for a more authentic and powerful flavour.
With a capacity of about 15 grams with dark tobacco and 12 grams with light tobacco, this bowl is very economical. Due to the materials it is made from, the ALPACA MINI ROOK bowl also helps the tobacco to burn as evenly as possible for as long as possible.
The phunnel (central hole in the middle of the bowl) on the ALPACA ROOK is grooved to give you an airflow above average and greater fluidity.
A wide range of unusual colours is available for Alpaca bowls.

The bowl is chosen according to the heating method used. With an aluminium foil setup, most standard bowls will do: flat bowls, Turkish bowls, phunnel or vortex. With a Provost system, a high-rimmed bowl — phunnel type, or flat with a rim — keeps the setup stable and spreads the heat evenly.
The Kaloud Lotus system requires a compatible bowl, such as the Kaloud Samsaris bowls or a bowl whose rim matches its diameter. Chimney-style systems (Brohood, Dragon, Badcha and others) are used with a Turkish clay bowl or a glass bowl such as the Dschinni Nero Glass, whose material withstands the temperature of the coals.
The Quasar Raas system is used with the Quasar bowls designed for its dimensions, in ceramic or glass depending on the model.
The material also affects how the bowl is used: clay is porous and seasons over time, glass is non-porous and easy to clean, silicone is light and unbreakable. Ceramic, glass, silicone and clay bowls are all in the shisha bowls category.
Regular maintenance is crucial for keeping your shisha bowl in top shape and ensuring incredible smoke every time. Once your session ends, allow your bowl to cool down before touching it—this prevents thermal shock. Once cool, empty any leftover molasses, then gently clean the bowl with a non-scratch sponge and liquid soap. This method clears molasses residue, tobacco buildup, and lingering odors, no matter if the bowl is made of clay, ceramic, glass, or silicone. For a deeper clean, soak the bowl in warm water with specific cleaner like El-Badia Shisha Cleaner powder or a dash of white vinegar for tough spots. Rinse thoroughly and dry well before the next use.
Avoid rinsing a hot bowl with cold water to prevent cracks. A specialized bowl brush is handy for hard-to-reach spots, and you can find all El-Badia cleaning products for targeted care.
Pro tip: every material needs a little extra attention—never use steel wool on silicone, and use only a soft sponge for glass bowls. Proper care preserves your flavors and guarantees every shisha/hookah session is smooth and hygienic!
